Process
To ensure a strong foundation and a seamless finish, we carried out the following steps:
1) Site Preparation
To prepare the site for the new installation in this tarmac driveway project, we removed 32 tons of spoil that was left over from the build, clearing the area for a fresh start and allowing us to provide a solid foundation for the new driveway.
2) Base Installation
Once the site was prepared, we laid down a MOT Type 1 hardcore surface. This would provide a solid, reliable foundation for the tarmac driveway project and ensure that the new installation would be stable for years to come.
3) Edging
To complement the new driveway and set the boundaries of this project, we installed Plaspave Premia block edging around the driveway. The edging in charcoal enhances the sleek, dark appearance of the tarmac and creates the perfect barrier around the property.
4) Tarmac Layers
We installed two layers of tarmac to create the new tarmac driveway. First, AC20 Binder Course Tarmac was applied to the subbase as a durable base layer, which would later support the driveway’s structure and ensure durability.
Once this binder course had set and was prepared well in the driveway, we finished the installation with 6the SMA Surface Course, which is a smooth, long-lasting surface. With these two layers, we can ensure excellent performance and visual appeal of the new tarmac driveway.
